JourneyEd is pleased to announce that Adobe has started a promotion that allows faculty and staff to also purchase Adobe Student Contractual Licensing Program (CLP) products at prices previously only available to students.

Faculty, staff and students can purchase software for personal use through the University Bookstore’s online software store at a cost substantially lower than the suggested retail price (SRP) and have it shipped directly to them.

Pricing:

•Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended, $189.98 (vs. $995 SRP or $299.98 academic pricing)
•Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium, $299.98 (vs. $1,799 SRP or $599.98 academic pricing)
•Adobe Acrobat 8.0 Professional, $79.98 (vs. $449.98 SRP or $159.98 academic pricing)

Institutional purchases

Adobe software can be purchased with special institutional pricing through UDMart. Adobe products ordered through UDMart are supplied by ASAP Software. For Adobe products not listed on UDMart, call the Technology Solutions Center at (302) 831-8895 or e-mail tsc-info@udel.edu.

The University’s Contractual Licensing Program with Adobe grants “work at home” rights to faculty and staff for their work copies of software. Adobe does not allow a copy of software to be used on more than one machine unless one desktop is the user’s office computer and the other is the user’s home computer, on which secondary use is permitted. To find out more about the specific end-user license agreements for these products, review the agreements at http://www.adobe.com/products/eulas/.

If you want to order a new office computer, send a note to oet-help@udel.edu for the latest hardware and software recommendations. The Office of Educational Technology will assist you to select a computer that will work effectively on campus and, in particular, on the OET network.

The latest recommended operating system for on-campus Windows machines is Vista Business and for Macintosh computers it is Mac OS X 10.4.6 (Tiger). Microsoft and Apple each have recommended minimum hardware requirements for computers to run the latest operating system. Often it is advisable to select a level or two up from the minimum hardware requirements for increased performance; OET can assist you with these selections.

For consultations on what computing equipment to purchase for home use, contact the Technology Solutions Center at extension 8895 or tsc-info@udel.edu.
